A Big Fat Greek Fundraiser for Walking Strong with Nia Vardalos!
In Celebrating the opening of MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING 3 – Fr. Gary Kyriacou / St. Sophia Cathedral, Nia Vardalos and I joined together to celebrate Nia’s Directorial debut and Walking Strong!
The sold-out event was a special screening of My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 with Director/Star, Nia Vardalos, hosted by St. Sophia Cathedral, all for the sake of raising awareness and funding for Walking Strong.
Nia and Valerie are longtime parishioners of St. Sophia Cathedral in LA, and along with the newest Dean, Fr. Gary Kyriacou, they planned a unique and fun event to celebrate the opening and support Walking Strong at AMC 16 in Burbank. Guests were welcomed by Fr. Gary, and learned about Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and the wonderful support that Walking Strong brings to those with Duchenne and their families. Valerie then introduced Nia, who spoke about her Directorial debut, shooting the film in Greece, and her support of Walking Strong. The guests, mostly Greek parishioners of St. Sophia, enthusiastically enjoyed the film clapping along to the music and laughing at all the moments that related to their own lives from Greek heritage.
It was a fantastic night!
