HEARTS OF POWER
The LAFC Power Soccer Team continues to shatter expectations, now proudly ranked as the Number 7 Power Soccer Team in the nation.
In just three years, this extraordinary group of six boys with DMD surged through the ranks of the United States Power Soccer Association, earning their place in the Premier League. They are the nation’s youngest team and the only team united by the shared challenge of Duchenne, led by the inspiring coach Armando Ornelas, who honors his late son Kyle’s legacy every day.
Backed by their professional namesake, LAFC, these determined young athletes face off against seasoned men and women from 42 teams nationwide at the USPSA National Tournament in Ft Wayne, IN, each June. Walking Strong proudly champions LAFC, empowering these unstoppable athletes to compete – and to triumph – on the national stage.
Their journey is so extraordinary and uplifting that it’s being captured in a documentary, premiering in 2026, to share their spirit and achievements with the world. Stay Tuned.
